Acrylic painting Aunt Jean and My Sister Bernadette, October 1942. by Bernard Scanlan

Aunt Jean and My Sister Bernadette, October 1942.

From a photograph.

This is one of the photos where my father, Michael Scanlan, has been removed or cut out of the picture. My father was standing next to the dog and Aunt Judy. Bernadette, in swaddling clothes, is just coming home after birth. She would die before my birth in 1954.

Acrylics, charcoal, and whisky. 20 x 20 gallery canvas.
