Acrylic painting The Blur That is My Father by Bernard Scanlan

The Blur That is My Father

From a photograph. My father was 42 when he left in 1961. My mother was pregnant with my sister and I was only six. I had few memories of him. No photos of him existed as my mother and step-father cut him out of all family pictures. Hence, my father was a blurry image from the past.

Acrylics and Kessler's Whisky. 30 x 24 gallery canvas.
